EAA Air Academy Scholarships:

Chapter 186 provides a few, nearly fully paid, scholarships to the Air Academy at Oshkosh, Wisconsin. Participants are immersed in aviation related activities and stay in the Air Academy Lodge. There are three separate age groups to foster the appropriate level of learning for the participants. These ages groups are: 12/13: Young Eagles Camp (5 days)

  • 14/15: Basic Camp (6 days)
  • 16-18: Advanced Camp (9 days) Initial letters of request are due no later than September 30th to the Youth Activity Coordinator. The early suspense helps the chapter compete competitively for the limited number of Air Academy slots each year.

Potential candidates need to contact the Youth Activities Coordinator, Shelia Swanson for instructions. Ms. Swanson will present a list of potential names and justification at the October board meeting for the Air Academy Camps occurring the following year. If selected by our chapter, Ms. Swanson will work with the potential candidate’s on their nomination packages for HQ EAA review and selection. If selected by HQ EAA, the only obligation for the participant is to participate in two chapter activities after returning from the Air Academy.

Air Academy details are available at: http://www.youngeagles.org/programs/airacademy/
