Fly-In
Hours are 8 a.m. until 5 p.m.
All
pilots of arriving aircraft are asked to register their aircraft at the
Aircraft Registration Booth in front of the airport terminal.
A
pancake breakfast is held at the CAP Hangar on both Saturday and Sunday
mornings from 8 a.m. until 11 a.m. The all-you-can-eat pancake breakfast is $5
per adult and $3 per child and includes pancakes, scrambled eggs, sausage,
orange juice and coffee, hot chocolate or tea.
Awards
are given for best homebuilt kit, homebuilt plans, antique, warbird,
and ultralight. Awards are presented 3 p.m. on Sunday
afternoon. Dash plaques awarded to the first 2 registered aircraft each day.
Saturday will be a "Show and Shine Day." Sunday will include a "Judged Show" by popular voting. Car registration 8 a.m. - 11 a.m. Awards presented at 3 p.m. Open to all antique, classic, muscle or modified car clubs. Dash plaques awarded to the first 25 cars each day.
A radio
control aircraft demonstration will take place on both Saturday and Sunday by
the Plane Crazy folks.
Got
some aviation equipment you no longer need? Bring it to the Flying Flea Market and let
us sell it for you. There is no charge for this service, but you may donate a
percent of the sale to Chapter 186 if you choose.
Young Eagle flights will take place on Saturday and Sunday afternoon from 1:00 p.m. until 3:30 p.m
A
volunteer party will be held on Saturday evening in the CAP hangar beginning at
5 p.m. Dinner will be served at 6 p.m. All volunteers are encouraged to attend.
A
fly-in provides an opportunity for pilots and aviation enthusiasts to
congregate. Builders and restorers can display and compare their flying
projects and exchange ideas with other builders. With good weather, attendance
is normally around 2500 people who can expect to see about 200 aircraft (with
about 50 being experimental or classic aircraft) over the course of the
weekend.
All
parking is FREE. Cars park on the grass outside the gate.
Homebuilt, Warplanes, and Classics crowd the tarmac area. Antiques and post
1960 factory built aircraft have their own parking areas.
